In the late 1980s, there was a show. A show with humble origins that, nonetheless, assembled a cast and a crew that had a chemistry only a few shows could boast. Like so many classic shows before it, it started a bit slow; but it got better every week, and unbridled success was only a matter of getting noticed by enough people. The chance for greatness seemed imminent.
It never got that chance: it was cancelled after 47 episodes.
But in another universe, another network saw it’s potential and gave it a second chance. It gave the show the nurturing it needed; and it became the enduring classic it deserved to be.
These are the scripts from that alternate universe.
